POULTRY CLUB.

Arrangements for Young Bird Show. The Christchurch Poultry, Pigeon and Canary Club held a meeting in the Fanciers’ Hall last evening. Mr R. Pearce presided over a large attendance. Correspondence was. received from the Oamaru Poultry Club explaining what they had done regarding the missing plant. It was agreed that further business on this matter be left in the hands of the. secretary. . The meeting discussed, the matter of holding a young bird show, all the specialist clubs being represented. It was pointed out that the fixture must be held by the end of March. It was agreed to hold a show, the dates selected being Friday an.d Saturday, March 29 and 30. A schedule and management committee was formed of two representatives of all the clubs. It was agreed that the committee meet next Monday at 7.30 p.m. to draw up the schedule. Messrs R. Pearce, G. FT. Bradford, C. H. Morris, J. D. Gobbe, M. C. Craig and G. Robertson were appointed to secure a suitable building to house the show. It was agreed that the kittens and rabbits be exhibited on the second day only. It was agreed to have three judges for poultry sections, one for all open poultry, one for utility light breeds and one for utility heavy breeds. The following were appointed: Open Poultry —Mr P. Jack. Utility Light Breeds— Mr W. J. Chambers. Utility Heavy Breeds—Mr F. Lovell. Bantams—Mr Gordon King. Fancy Pigeons—Mr H. Wiltshire. Homers—Mr F. lvingsford. Canaries—Mr T. H. Jones. Budgerigars Mr Cossgrove.
