NARROW ESCAPE.
Four Men in Home-built Boat. GISBORNE, This Day. Thrown into the water from a homebuilt sailing boat, which capsized three miles off Young Nick’s Head, four young men had a narrow escape from being carried out to sea by a strong westerly breeze. However, being strong swimmers, they succeeded after a great struggle in righting the craft, and, using a paddle in place of the lost rudder, made a landing through the surf near Muriwai.
