NORTH BRIGHTON SCHOOL.
The monthly meeting of tfie North Brighton School Committee was field recently. In the absence of the chairman (Mr A. Florance), Mr F. S. Norrie presided. A motion expressing sympathy with the family of the late Mr James Wilson, borough overseer, was carried. The head master’s report showed the roll number as 315, the average attendance beirg 298 or 94 per cent. It was decided to provide a Christmas tree for the infants classes in tlie schoolgrounds on Tuesday, December 18, and that the breaking-up ceremony for the other classes be held at the school on the evening of Wednesday, December 19. The secretary reported that the recent <h ildren’s dress party had realised £8 12s 5d towards the funds, and that the winner of the pincushion was Miss O. I. Curtis and of the tin of tea Mrs J. Sands. Votes of thanks and appreciation for their kind efforts were accorded to Mrs N. M’Gillivray and Mrs A. Hull. Messrs Sands and Margetts were appointed a visiting committee for this and next month.
