Regret at the retirement of Mr John Deans was expressed at this morning’s meeting of the Board of Governors of Canterbury Agricultural College. The chairman. Dr 11. G. Denham, moved: “ That the board place on record its deep appreciation of the loyal and valued services rendered over a period of twenty years by ]\Jr John Deans, both as member and chairman of the board, and expresses to him its keen regret at the severance of his connection with the college.” The motion was carried after a number of members had paid tributes to Mr Deans’s
