VARIED PROGRAMME.
Mystery Drama and Fight Film. The perfect crime allied with the eternal triangle is featured in “ The Crime Doctor,” the principal film at the Majestic Theatre this week. Supported by a number of “shorts,” this picture would make a fine programme in itself, but as an added attraction the management presents the official film of the Baer-Carnera fight for the world’s heavy-weight championship. Otto Kruger, Karen Morley and Nils Asther have the leading roles in “The Crime Doctor.” Kruger is cast as a famous criminologist who frames the “ perfect crime ” in order to revenge himself on his wife’s (Karen Morley) lover. Asther has the role of the lover. Unlike many pictures of this type the audience is allowed to watch every step in Kruger’s diabolical plan. Excitement rises as the master mind puts into effect his scheme for the undoing of his rival.
