PERIL IN EUROPE.
“ Her Political Ulcers Ready to Burst.” HATRED AND HOSTILITY. LONDON, December 1. “ Europe’s political ulcers are ready to burst; the nations are taking up battle stations,” declares Mr Ward Price in an article in the “ Daily Mail. ’ Never had he heard such hatred and hostility talked as during his recent tour of Europe, he says. Unless something were done to prevent it, an unexpected incident would shortly supply the spark to set the Continent ablaze again. Peace treaties, buttressed by nationalistic pride, were the prime cause of the present peril. America would never have attained her present greatness had she erected barriers along her State frontiers, similar to those maintained l>y Europe in a score of principal countries. “ A bleeding Europe! A breeding Asia!—What can be the outcome except the ultimate domination of the old world by the Far East? ” the article adds.
“ Unite or perish is the choice before the nations of Europe.”
