RED CROSS WORK.
Families of Returned Men Assisted. During the period from April to October this year, the Canterbury C entre of the Red Cross Society has issued 10,815 articles of clothing to 1052 families of ex-service men in distress, including 2015 children, also 1813 garments, etc., to 927 men. These include 225 pairs of boots and shoes. The bulk of the issues were new goods, the materials being made by the centre and sub-centres.
