SUNDAY TENNIS.
Presbyterian Church’s Protest. The following resolution was carried unanimously by the members of the Cashmere Hills Presbyterian Church at the conclusion of the morning service yesterday: “ The members of the Cashmere Hills Presbyterian Church express their gratitude to those City Councillors who opposed Sunday tennis on courts on city reserves, and deeply sympathise with their concern that the granting of permission w’ould result in further demands by other sports bodies. They regiet exceedingly that by the vote of a majority of the councillors the secularisation of the Lord’s Day will be still further accelerated in Christchurch, and hereby strongly protest against the decision of the council.”
