OBITUARY.
Alexander G. Cannons. The death has occurred, at the age of 56 years, of Mr Alexander George Cannons. district officer in Christchurch of the Department of Industries and Commerce. and a well-known figure in the commercial life of the city. Mr Cannons was a member of the council of the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce and of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association. Mr Cannons was born in Wanganui and educated at the Wanganui Collegiate School. He followed a commercial career and was for about twenty years assistant accountant to the Wanganui Freezing Company. He joined the Department of Industries and Commerce in June, 1929. and while he was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and the Manufacturers’ Association, his services were highly valued.
