CHURCH PARADE.
Summer Surf Life-Saving
Club Members,
Yesterday morning members of the Sumner Surf and Life Saving Club held their annual church parade at the St.inner Presbyterian Church. Owing to the state of the tide and the necessity of a full team remaining on duty, the attendance was smaller than usual. The service was conducted by the Rev W. A. Martin, who accorded the members of the club a very hearty welcome and took for the subject of his address “ Christ in the Great Out of Doors." The first lesson was read by the oldest member of the club. Mr H. Buttle, and the second by the youngest member. Those present included the patron, Mr W. H. Nicholson, Mayor of Sumner; the vicepatron. Mr G. F. Allen, and the president, Mr S. K. Bassett. In the evening a parade of the Sumner Guides attended the service under the direction of their officers. Misses Fountain Barber and D. Plominski. The kindergarten classes of the Sunday School will be entertained at their Christmas party next Saturday afternoon, and the presentation of prizes to the older scholars will take place next Sunday morning.
