To dispose of the surplus of geese in Lithuania, due to a shrinkage in exports of the birds, as other countries are raising their own the Government proposes to force civil servants to eat them Every official according to this plan, must, each month, buy one goose for everv 100 litas (£2l of his monthly salary. The announcement is said to causing much worry to highly-paid bachelor officials.
