ATTEMPT ON SAFE.
Drill Used at Central Dairy Coy.’s Office.
An attempt was made last evening to drill a hole in the m safe of the Central Co-op. Dairy' Company, in Moorhouse Avenue. The attempt was unsuccessful, but the thieves searched the office and took with them when they left a Remington typewriter. The thieves entered through the back door of the office, which they forced open. They apparently intended to concentrate on the safe as they were equipped with a powerful drill. Two bits were used, the larger being about a third of an inch in diameter. The strength of the steel was too great and the drill did not penetrate- to any' great distance.
