SEAMAN AMOK.
Chased Man on Ship With Razor. FIXED FOR ASSAULT. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, This Day. Running amok with a blade razor aboard the motor-vessel Armadale, on its trip between Lyttelton and Dunedin, a seaman named Edward Ilaslam chased a greaser and had to be apprehended by the captain and officers. The police stated that Ilaslam, who was charged with assaulting Frederick George Gwyer on November 5, had partaken of a considerable quantity of liqour at Lyttelton. He got possession of a razor and chased Gwyer. Ilaslam was put in the hospital room, but smashed the door with a. stretcher. He was then seized b\- the crew and locked in the forepeak. When examined here he was fairly rational, but still suffering from alcohol. Accused signed on in New South Wales, and had more or less misbehaved on the voyage out. Hasla rmvas lined 20s, in default two days’ imprisomiient, the Magistrate rehim. We don’t want him here.”
