Result of Postal Challenge Competition.

(Special to the *** Star.”) ASHBURTON, July 17. The results of the postal match tor the New Zealand Miniature Rifle Challenge Shield were announced to-day by the Ashburbon Miniature Rifle Club, which conducted the competition. Thu best scores (496) were returned by United (Christchurch), Chrietchurelz and Sydenham, and these clubs Wilt shoot off to decide the winner*. The handsome shield, which la valued at £SO, and was presented by the citizen* of Ashburton, was won last year by the Christchurch Club’s team, th# previous holders being as follows:—— 1932, Timaru: 1931, Sydenham; 1934, Ashburton: 1929, Cashmere; 1928, Sydenham: 3 927, Ashburton; 1926. Sydenham; 1925, Sydenham; 1924, Ashburton* From 1924 to 1911 the trophy was competed for on the Ashburton Club’* range, and In Order to avoid expense* Incurred in travelling, the shield toad been competed for during the past three year* on home range condition*.
