DEBATING TEAM.
First Foreign Student to be Chosen. At ttou annual inter-university debating contest for the Joynt Scroll. Canterbury College will thi* year be represented by Messrs C. F. Hart and W. Wah, who were selected last night at a meeting of the College Dialectic Society committee. Mr Wah. who in a Chinese bA' birth, will be the first foreign student lever to take part in the debate. The subject will be “That it would be in the best interests of the British Em* fire to enter into an alliauce with. apan.” and the contest will he held In Dunedin.
Last year the trophy was won by Otago University. Canterbury Collage, represented by Messrs L F. G. Mllnt** and C. F. Hart, being second.
