Demand for Potatoes Expected. A slightly better demand from Auckland for potatoes has set in, and there are indications that supplies in the north are becoming small. This has been assisted by the smallness of shipments from Lyttelton. Merchants expect a fairly heavy demand from the north towards the end of the month. Following are the prices quoted to be paid to farmers, on trucks at country stations, sacks included unless otherWheat—Tuscan 3s 9d, Hunters 3s lid. Pearl (4s (June delivery). Fowl Wheat—2s B?>d to 2s 9d. Potatoes—White £2 15s to £3 (June delivery). Dakotas £2 15s to £3 (June). Onions—2os a ton.
