SOCKBURN SMASH.
Railways Board to Consider Report.
A report on the railway smash at Sockburn, which occurred on Saturday week last, is being prepared by the General Manager of Railways, Air G. H. Macklev, for submission to the Railways Board. The board meets on June 27, after which a public announcement will be made concerning the cause, or contributing causes, of the accident.
But for unforeseen circumstances a meeting of the board would have been held this wee.k. No announcement will be made public until the board has had an opportunity of considering Mr Mackley’s report.
