AUCKLAND BUSINESS. (Special to the “ Star.”) AUCKLAND. June 12. Business continued to be brisk on the Stock Exchange yesterday afternoon and values were maintained or improved. This morning's call was quieter, out bidding showed a healthy tone, with a good list of quotations. Bank of Nev. Zealand shares were available at 51s 6-1. but buyers remained at 50s 9d. Auckland Gas shares continued to sell steadily and New Zealand Breweries were 6d below the value recorded last week. More were on offer at this morning's price, buyers offering 43e 9d. In the mining section, which opened the week with much activity. Mahaktpawas were the most prominent of those available and sold freely at Is. The bidding was slightly less keen for Waibis, buyers slipping back to 32s 9d.

Business at the noon call was keen. All lines interested brokers, with th*exception of Government securities, where values were unchanged. The mining section was very active, Mahakipawas changing hands hourly. Mahkipawas were popular, three considerable parcels changing hands.
