HARBOUR BOARD.

Committees Appointed at Kaiapoi. The Waimakariri Harbour Board met at Kaiapoi last night. Present— The chairman (Mr J. Hirst), Messrs R. F. Joyce. W. A. Young, H. Rinaldi, J. A. Xlealings, ,T. Bryden and Dr M. Ramsay. The Superintendent, Mercantile Marine, Lvttelton, wrote forwarding a eopv of a letter received from the secretarv of the Marine Department. Wellington, with reference to the mooring lniov at Kairnki. and asked to he advised of the position. It was decided to reply that the buoy had carried away and that stops would be taken to locate 5>f € 'th2 m r!ver was' suitable. The signalman reported that during tlm month the scov.- Ngahau had landed 1564 lambs and had loaded 100 tons of prodive for Wellington. The financial statement showed re-

ceipts amounting to £C>3 35s lid and a credit balance of £123 5s lOd. Accounts amounting to £79 Is 7d were passed for payment. At a statutory meeting of the board Mr R. F. Joyce was elected chairman for the ensuing year and Dr M. Ramsay was elected deputy-chairman. The following committees were elected: Works Committee, Messrs H. Rinaldi (chairman), J. A. Mealings and J. Bryden; Harbour Committee. Messrs W. A. Young (chairman), J. Hirst and Dr M. Ramsay.
