HARBOUR BOARD.

Committees Appointed at Kaiapoi. The Waimakariri Harbour Board met at Kaiapoi last night. Present— The chairman (Mr J. Hirst), Messrs R. F. Joyce. W. A. Young, H. Rinaldi, J. A. Xlealings, ,T. Bryden and Dr M. Ramsay. The Superintendent, Mercantile Marine, Lvttelton, wrote forwarding a eopv of a letter received from the secretarv of the Marine Department. Wellington, with reference to the mooring lniov at Kairnki. and asked to he advised of the position. Joyce was elected chairman for the ensuing year and Dr M. Ramsay was elected deputy-chairman. The following committees were elected: Works Committee, Messrs H. Rinaldi (chairman), J. A. Mealings and J. Bryden; Harbour Committee. Messrs W. A. Young (chairman), J. Hirst and Dr M. Ramsay.
