TOKIO, May 5. A most impressive memorial service to Jiro Satoh. the tennis player, was held on the Waseda University courts: liis black-draped racquet and photograph were placed in the centre of an altar, flanked by his personal belongings, prizes and other mementos. Many purple, sdariet or white-robed priests chanted solemn Buddhist rites and his comrades addressed the gathering' on Satoh’s spirit in moving words of farewell.
