Jervis Bay Picks Up French Airman. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received April IS. 12.35 p.m.) LONDON. April 17. Six hundred passengers on the Jervis Bay had the unexpected thrill of witnessing the rescue of a French airman, whose plane sank eight miles north of Bizerta (Tunisia). Three planes were flying in formation near the liner, when one fell. The Jervis Bay stopped and lowered a boat. After half an hour’s search they found the pilot, Charles Petus, clinging to a piece of wreckage. lie was uninjured. He was later placed on board a French seaplane after his squadron at Sedhamed had been informed by wireless.
