Lindrum’s Intentions Not Known. LONDON, April 10. The chairman of the Billiards Control Council (Mr Bissett) said to-day that the continued lack of information from Waiter Lindrum was making the position difficult regarding the holding of the world’s championship in Australia. “We greatly appreciate Victoria’s offer to incorporate the championship in the Centenary featuies, but we cannot reply to it until we are informed of Lindrum’s intention," he said. Mr Bissett suggested that Lindrum should confer immediately with Captain Treacey, president of the Australian Billiards Council. Captain Treacey, when the above suggestion was acted upon, said at Melbourne that he had not seen Lindrum for some weeks, and he knew nothing of what arrangements were being made between Lindrum and Davis. It was a matter for the professionals o arrange among themselves. lie understood that Davis, Lindrum and M’Conachy had entered, and his council had been asked to arrange and supervise the matches. For the present he was not concerned as to who was going lo play. Davis’s Complaint. Davis, when interviewed in London by the Melbourne “ Herald ” representative, said that Lindrum’s answers to his cables had been disappointing. “ Lindrum answers nene of my questions,” he said. “ I would be delighted to Compete in the championship, but that is impossible without more definite information. I am completely in the dark as to the programme Lindrum is arranging. “ Lindrum says that he has never had a contract before visiting England, but at least he has had a definite working arrangement. “ Moreover, regarding the forfeiture of my £SO deposit, that is a matter for the English Council, which, 1 am certain, would not approve.”
