Scotsman’s Bargain in Rail Travel. LONDON, April 1. A Scotsman holds the record for cheap rail travel—2soo miles for ten shillings! If you buy a 10s holiday contract ticket on the L.M.S. you can go where J'ou like and when you like within a certain area every day and night for a week. Mr Cecil Furst, of Bedford Place, Joppa, Midlothian, bought a ticket last year and set up a new record by covering 25014 miles in a week for 10s. He beat his own record for 1932, which was 1034 miles. 20 Milea a Penny. He travelled at the rate of about 20 miles for a penny ! “ This kind of travel,” said Sir Josiah Stamp, chairman of the L.M.S., at the annual meeting, “ will make house rents superfluous. People will be able to live in trains much more cheaply than in houses.”
