THE POPE’S HOLIDAY.
Will Live as CountryGentleman. VATICAN CITY, April 2. The Pope will go to the country after Ascension Day (May 19) for a summer holiday of two months. He will stay at the Papal Villa, at CastelGandolfo, in the Alban Hills, 13 miles from Rome, and live like a -country gentleman, daily visiting the adjoining Papal farm. Only a few prelates and a detachment of Swiss guards to do duty in the ante-chamber will accompany the Pope. The villa w*as the regular Papal summer resort until 1870, when the Vatican broke with the Italian Government.
