OPAWA SCHOOL
Last Committee Meeting Held. At the last meeting of the Opawa School Committee it was stated that the preparing of the infants’ playground nad been referred to the Education Board for the necessary labour. MiLeech’s offer to supply and place in position a concrete crossing was accepted with thanks, and it was decided to send a letter to Mr E. H. Scott, thanking him for services rendered. The treasurer’s statement had been submitted for- audit and returned without a tag. Appreciation was expressed of the excellent way in which the treasurer (Mr L. W. Ray) had carried out his duties. The headmaster’s report showed the roll number as 388 and the average attendance 301.9. The school had been closed for twelve days owing to the prevalence of measles. Nurse Bannister had resumed her clinic work, and parents were reminded that contributions for the clinic were due. The headmaster, Mr C. W. Allard, expressed appreciation of the co-operation of the committee during the year. There were present: Messrs V. Blakely (chairman), L. A. Jarden, C. T. Pease, H. E. Leech, L. W. Ray, T. F. Deplioff (secretary) and Mf Allard.
