CONDITION OF STOCK.
Gastric Trouble Among Lambs. Generally speaking, the condition of stock in the Canterbury Province is good at the present time, but in recent weeks a trouble among lambs has been noticeable. The trouble, which is gastric and caused by the heavy growth of soft, fresh feed, is not serious and there has been no great mortality among stock as the result of it. Stock along the foothills have been affected mostly. Similar trouble was experienced seme three years ago, when thousands or lambs died. When stock show signs of the illness, their removal to the driest feed available and dosing with 1 per cent of bluestone solution are recommended.
