BOXING.
Archie Hughes Draws With Fitzgerald. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, April 9. A professional lightweight boxing contest between Archie Hughes (Auckland) and Jack Fitzgerald (Australia) ended in a draw, the judges disagreeing and the referee giving a decision which met with a very mixed reception. Fitzgerald proved! himself the cleverest defensive boxer seen in Auckland for years, his opponent being at a loss to know how to hit him. Whenever* Fitzgerald chose to open out he piled up points with a straight left varied occasionally with a right cross and he appeared to hold a comfortable margin at the finish.
