FOLK DANCING FETE.
A meeting: of the committee which is organising the folk dancing fete *o he held at Bishopscourt next week t)y the Y.W.C.A. was held on Thursday afternoon. The attractions promised in addition to the folk dancing by teams entering the competition include maypole dance in British national costumes, display of gymnastics by Y.M.C A., squad drill by Y.W.C.A.. display of country dancing by girls from West Christchurch District High School. The judge will be Miss Millicent Kennedy, assisted by Miss Munro. Many sideshows have been arranged! including croquet competition (Mrs E. D. Mosley in charge), golf (Mrs A. C. Bretherton), hat trimming competition (Mrs W. H. Dixon). quoits, dart throwing, nail driving, stepping a chain, guessing weight of cake. Afternoon tea will be served and ice cream and sweets will be on sale. If the weather is not propitious the same programme will be carried out in the Choral Hall.
