The mean theft of clothing from Kairaki Beach yesterday left several swimmers in a difficult predicament. One young man lost not only all his clothing but a watch, other items of value, and a suitcase containing among other things £7 in money. A lady bather lost all her underclothing. The victims were left to make their way back to the city and their homes as best they could. The matter has been reported to the police.
