FLUID GIVEN HORSE.

“ Administered Openly and Honestly.” Per Press Association. THAMES, February 17. The Judicial Committee of the Thames Jockey Club has considered the analyst’s report with regard to the samples of saliva and fluid administered to the mare Prolvxo and taken possession of by Mr C. Gomer, chief stipendiary steward to the New Zealand Racing Conference, and Mr F. Cullen, racecourse inspector, on the second day of the annua] meeting on January 13. The finding of the committee is as follows: (1) That the fluid did not contain any harmful or sedative alkaloid, drugs or any non-alkaloid drugs, or nitroglycerin, or mineral stimulus or tonics. (2) That such fluid was administered quite openly and honestly by Mr J. G. King, and was part of a simple i medicinal treatment to which Prolyxo was subjected as part of her ti'aining. (3) The committee is quite satisfied that the treatment administered was for medicinal purposes, and only given to check natural bleeding in the head, to which Prolyxo, when racing or working, was then, and had for a long time been subject. (4) The committee is also satisfied that this treatment was not given for any corrupt purpose within the meaning of the Rules of Racing.
