KARTIGI UNLOADS.
Watersiders’ Dispute Settled. The work of discharging the South Australian cargo brought to Wellington by the Kartigi was commenced at 9.30 o’clock this morning. The vessel, which arrived on Tuesday afternoon, has been held up owing to a dispute between the Railway Department and the railway watersiders concerning the engagement of an extra sheet-hand. When a start was made with unloading this morning only two sheet-hands were engaged, the arrangement being that the members of the local disputes committee are to make an inspection, while’the vessel is being discharged, to ascertain whether two sheeters are sufficient or not to keep up with the five gangs working the ship.
