ATHLETIC CONTESTS.
Canterbury and Otago Teams to Meet. (Special to the “Star.”) ' « DUNEDIN, February 16. Arrangements were made at a meeting of the Otago Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association for an inter-provincial contest between Otago and Canterbury, at Oamaru, on March 10. It was decided to recommend the Canterbury Centre to adopt the following programme:—looyds, 220yds, 440yds, 880yds, one mile, three miles, mile-medley relay, 120yds hurdles, 440yds hurdles, discus, javelin, shot put, hammer throw, pole vault, broad jump and high Jump. The proposal is that each province should be represented by two men in each event. It was decided to include the following handicap events in the programme:—looyds ladies, ladies’ high jump, 100yds, 220yds, secondary schools race and SBoyds.
