ORIGIN OF BLAZE.
Did Fire Start on Upper Floor? A theory that the disastrous Roydr.Howard fire started in the second floor was advanced by a member of the staff, who thought that there was not sufficient inflammable gear on the ground floor to explain the rapid spread of the flames. He contended that the fire could not have started in the workshop, as is thought. The workroom has a concrete floor, and there was little in it that would burn rapidly, he said. Members of the Radio Society were in their rooms on the second floor until eleven o’clock last night, but no electricity other than the light was switched on. Some of the staff of Royds-Howard Company were unpacking radio sets till * a later hour, but when they left everything was in order.
The amiable fortune deceyveth folk; The contrarie fortune techeth. —Chaucer.
