DRIVE IN THE RAIN.
Press Delegates Entertained at Hanmer. Pe- Press Association. HANMER SPRINGS, February 14. Delegates to the Press Conference were the guests of the Forestry Service staff this afternoon, being taken for a drive through the extensive plantations at Hanmer Springs. Unfortunately. heavy rain was falling, and the roads through the forests were very slippery The delegates enjoyed a slide rather than a drive over several miles of roads, but found the experience interesting and thrilling, though the downpour blotted out a distant view. On returning from the drive the delegates were entertained by the hospital staff at afternoon tea. They were received bv Dr Chisholm and Matron Hodges. It is interesting to note that Matron Hodges is a survivor of the Marquette disaster during the war. The visitors were hospitably entertained, and many had the privilege of being shown over the institution, which possesses many features of unusual interest. Rain now has ceased, and prospects are better for to-morrow.
