“A MIS-STATEMENT.”
Will be Two Australian Tests in N.Z. The cable message in which Mr R. Oxlade, chairman of the Australian Board of Control is reported as saying that the Australian cricket team to tour New Zealand will have only one “ representative ” match, at Dunedin, is regarded by Mr W. H, Winsor, secretary to the New Zealand Cricket Council, as a mis-statement. This statement, he said, made it appear as if there would be only the one Test in New Zealand, .which was not the case. Besides the Test at Dunedin, there would be the arranged match with New Zealand at Wellington on March 30 and 31 and April 2. There were no alterations in the itinerary. The itinerary is as follows: February 20 and 21—v. Rangitikei, at Marton. February 23, 24, 26 —v. Wellington, at Wellington. February 27 and 28—v. Ashburton, at Ashburton. March 2,3, s—v. New Zealand, at Dunedin. March 7, B—v. South Canterbury, at Timaru. March 9, 10, 12—v. Canterbury, at Christchurch. March 14, 15—v. Hawke’s Bay, at Napier. March 17, 19—v. Poverty Boy, at Gisborne. March 23, 24, 26—v. Auckland, at Auckland. March 27, 28—v. Manawatu, at Palmerston North. March 30, 31 and April 2—v. New Zealand, at WellingtonApril 3—Sail home.
