BURWOOD SCHOOL.
At the meeting of the Burwood School Committee the following were present:—Messrs H. Rouse (chairman). Smith, Freeman, Currie, Delamain and Stevenson (secretary). Correspondence was received from the Tennis Club containing a list of members’ names; also from the secretary of the Christchurch Keswick Convention, in which thanks were tendered for the use of the school grounds; and also from the Canterbury Education Board. It was reported that a credit balance of £3 14s had resulted from the school concert recently held. The Visiting Committee recommended that the house grounds be cleared up before the new head master takes up his residence there. The meeting decided to send letters of thanks to the following firms for donations of goods for the break-up festival:— Messrs Radley and Frampton. D.I.C. and Mr Robinson, of the local ‘store! Arrangements for a social were left in the hands of Messrs Stevenson and Freeman. It was decided to hold the annual picnic at the Pleasant Point Domain on February 9. Parents of children attending school, and also scholars, are to be conveyed there free. Accounts to the amount of £4 3s 9d were passed for payment. The Visiting Committee for tho month will be Messrs Freeman and Delamain.
