TOWN CLERK APPOINTED.
(Special to the " Star.**7 TEMUKA, January 14. After considerable discussion, the Temuka Borough Council last evening finally selected Mr L. Durey, of Riccarton, Christchurch, for the position of town clerk. There were fifty-nine applicants. The final selection was made between Messrs Durey and Butters. The latter is assistant town clerk at Rangiora.
Mr Durey has been assistant clerk in the Riccarton Borough for the past four years. For twelve years previous to that, he was in commercial work in Christchurch and Wellington. He is to take up his new position on February L
