Players Assist Funds of Y.W.CA. CLUB TOURNAMENT. On most of the bowling graena In Christchurch this afternoon club touroa- . ments were held to raise fund* to aaslst the Christchurch Young Women** Christian Association. The tournament* were arranged in response to an appeal made to the Christchurch Bowling Centre by the committee of the Y.W.C.A., and JX is expected that a substantial sum Wttl tfc» raised in this way towards the funds of the association. The weather conditions were ideal, and the greens were in excellent order. The tournament at the tt Albans green was won by a rink consisting of Brock, Brydon, Moore and H. P. Donald (skip)). At the Barrington green tbs skips’ prize was won by J. Paterson and <h* leads’ prize by C. Carter. Over £7 was collected at the Christchurch green, where forty-eight took part in a progressive rinks tpMTMfr* ment. Six rinks were used, ami W9+ rounds were played, the games being conducted according to a time limit. A progressive doubles tournament was played at Barrington, twenty-four tbters participating. The championship rinks were advanced another stage at the Shirley green, thirty-six players participating. About £2 was taken up In the collection. Friendly games were played at Elmwood, where £1 14a was collected. A pairs tournament was held oa the Barnett principle of play with three bowls at the Canterbury green, 48 players taking part. Between £5 and £6 was collected for the Y.W.C.A. Forty members of the St Albans Club took part in a progressive rinks tournament. The collection amounted to about £4. Over £3 was collected at the Bdgeware green, where a progressive doubles tournament was played, thirty-two members taking part.

£YTfHTOV CLUB. Playing in the semi-final round for the champion doubles on the Lyttelton rink to-day, F. Tylee and D. Page (skip) beat J. Scott and T. Maher, 16-18. In the first round for the president's trophy, J, T. Norton and A. WhiteParsons tied at the twenty-first head. In the phiy-off, Norton beat White-Parsons. In the first round for the Norton Shield. J. Souter and H. Huston beat E. Muxlow and A. MacDonald, 22-14.
