YACHTING.
Late Entry for Cornwell Cup. POSITION RECONSIDERED. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, December 21. At a meeting of the executive of the Otago Yacht and Motor Boat Association this evening a communication was received from the Takapuna Boating Club suggesting that, in the interests of the Cornwell Cup contest, the Otago Association should reconsider its attitude with regard to the late entry of Manukau for the contest. After a good deal of discussion it was decided that, in view of the explanation which had been made, that the lateness of the entry was entirely due to an error on the part of the secretary, the Manukau entry should be accepted and the boat allowed to compete in the contest.
