AMBULANCE WORK.
St John Association Committee. The general committee of the Canterbury and West Coast Centre of the St John Ambulance Association met last evening, Dr J. Restell Thomas presiding. The statement of receipts and payments for the month showed that the receipts were £637 3s 2d, which included £312 as the result of the recent street collection. A credit balance of £315 38s lid was shown. The report was received. Accounts amounting to £216 8s 3d were passed for payment. The election of officers resulted:— Chairman, Dr J. Restell Thomas; deputy chairman, Colonel F. B. Creswell; Executive and Finance Committee, Bishop Brodie, Messrs H. L. Bowker, C. Buchanan and Captain G. Peek. The report on the ambulances stated that all was in order. The No. 1 ambulance had travelled 617 miles, the hospital ambulance 94 miles, and the No. 2 ambulance 2251 miles. The new machine had covered 1092 miles since it was put into service. The report was adopted.
