The Templeton Country Club Meets. A general meeting of members of the Templeton Country Club was held in the Islington Hall last evening to receive half-yearly report and accounts. It was attended, by about eighty members over whom Mr W. W. M’Kinney presided. Mr M’Kinney, club president, in his address, said that- the matter of congestion was causing the committee much concern and several remedies had been suggested. One that should be seriously considered, and which was a club matter more than a committee affair, was tine proposal to proceed immediately with the development of another course on the ample area available. The second course, in beautiful golf country, could be made with practically no expenditure and would be for new members, or optional for present members. It was not at any time suggested that present non-handicap players should be compelled to play on the new course until they had qualified. The chairman of the Greens Committee reported on the progress made on the present course and greens and said that, contrary to rumour, no great structural alterations were contemplated. It was decided, after a full discussion, that the preparation of the second course should be proceeded with. The matter of the closing of the membership roll, at present standing at 200, was left in the hands of the committee. Accounts showed that the club, at thte end of the present season, should have a credit balance. CHRISTCHURCH LADIES’ CLUB.
