Management Committee Meets. ARRANGEMENTS FOR TEST. The Management Committee of the Canterbury Rugby Football League met last evening. Mr J. Chick reported that arrangements had been completed for the Linwood team to play the Citv Club at Dunedin on Saturday for the Gore Cup. The Junior Advisory Committee reported that H. Smither, a fourth-grade Limvood placer, had been ordered to stand down until such time as he apologised to a line umpire for alleged insulting remarks. It was reported that the test match with the English team on August 13 would be broadcast from 3YA and a lecture on the game would be given on August 0. “ I wish to express my appreciation of the conduct of your players, members of the South Island team, which played in Auckland on Saturday last. On and off the field they bellied to win back, or should I say, keep up the prestige of our game, vlhich at times is unfairly attacked by those of other codes,” wrote Mr W. J. Davidson, the League’s representative on the New Zealand League Council.
