Championships Continue at Wimbledon. WOMEN’S SINGLES SEMI-FINAL. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received June 30, 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, June 29. The British Lawn Tennis Championships were continued at Wimbledon today. The spectators to-day were delighted with Merlin’s strong and graceful strokes while assisting Boussus to eliminate the Japanese conquerors of Crawford and Hopman. Results:— Women’s Singles. (Semi-final.) Miss Helen Jacobs beat Mme. Mathieu 7-5, 6-1. Mixed Doubles. (Third Round.) Hopman and Mile. Sigart beat Tloczynski and Mile. Jedrejowaka 6-4, 6-4. (Fourth Round.) 'Crawford and Mrs Crawford beat Aoki and Mrs Peacock 7-5, 2-6, 6-2. Hopman and Mme Sigart beat Miki and Miss Round 3-6, 6-3, 7-5. Cochet and Mrs Whittingstall beat and Mrs Pittman 6-2, 8-6. Maier and Miss Ryan beat Clemenger and Mrs Covell, 5-7, 6-2, 6-0. Spence and Miss Betty Nuthall beat Cramm and Fraulein Krahwinkel, 7-5, 2-6, 6-2. Men’s Doubles. (Fourth Round.) Boussus and Merlin beat Satoh and Miki, 6-3, 6-4, 3-6, 6-1. Allison and Van Ryn beat Menzel and Oil iff 6-4, 3-6, 8-6, 6-3. Hughes and Perry beat Mangin and Wood 7-5, 7-5, 6-3. Overseas Tours. E. D. Andrews will make another world tour after Wimbledon, combining business with tennis. lie will travel via America and will visit the F'ar East, Australia and New Zealand, returning in the spring of 1933. In reference to the tour of Cochet and Merlin, Cochet stated that he and Merlin had tentatively arranged to arrive in Australia early in January after c. visit to New Zealand.
