A Timely Suggestion.

To the Editor. Dear Sir. —We have recently seen by the Kreuger affair in Sweden *how high finance can sink to very low and questionable levels when not under any control, possibly causing needless suffering to thousands of innocent victims in the ranks of the common (but decent) people of the world. Now, sir, these high financiers seem to have risen above the common law of audit and proper supervision in business matters, but with everyone crying out in these times of depression for constructive ideas, why not suggest to our legislators at Ottawa or London, the formation of an International Finance Control Board. Their job would be to keep a closer watch on these high finance gentlemen and approve of, or veto, their big deals before they were carried through. Each country could have its own national board, but also have representatives on the international board, where high finance involves other nations. Surely a sytem of audit and control in all business matters is logic. Hoping this may start some abler pen on this subject, I am, etc., SANER METHODS.
