English Murdered.

To the Editor. Dear Sir,—Can you tell me if the murdering of English over the air, which I accidentally heard last evening, is a usual thing? The version of the English language used by the announcer was something atrocious. A few barbarities which stick in my mind are: “ kalem ” for calm; “ thausn, ’ thousand; “ kemstitooshun,” constitution. If this sort of thing is chronic, either the radio censorship should be tightened up. or announcers should be required to pass some sort of an examination in elementary English.—l am, etc., SHOCKED.
