STUDENTS WELCOMED.
Dance Given at Canterbury College. FRESHERS ENTERTAINED. The Canterbury College Hall was gay with streamers and balloons last evening, when the college tendered its official welcome to the Freshers of 1932. The committee members responsible for a pleasant evening were Misses Peggie Metson, Nancy Clibborn, Alison West-Watson and Messrs J. G. D. Ward, 11. M. S. Dawson and N. L. Uniacke. Members of the professorial staff and their wives present were: Mrs Hight, wife of the rector, Dr James Hight, who was unavoidably absent, Dr and Mrs H. G. Denham, Dr and Mrs R. S. Allen, Dr and Mrs D. B. M’Leod, Dr C. C. Farr, Professor and Mrs J. Sinclaire, Professor and Mrs, A. H. -Tocker, Professor and Mrs S. Steele, Mesdames E. Chilton, J. Darwin, Miss A. Candy and Miss Farr.
Mrs Hight wore a handsome freok of black georgette patterned in pastel flowers; Mrs Denham black satin; Mrs Sinclaire, gold georgette; Mrs Chilton, black lace and georgette; Mrs Allen, floral georgette; Mrs Tocker, black lace; Mrs Darwin, pink lace; Mrs Steele, cinnamon georgette; Mrs M’Leod, pink and navy patterned georgette; Miss Farr, green georgette, Miss Candy, blue lace.
