SOLICITOR FOUND DEAD.

Was Member of Profession in Auckland. (Special to the ” Star.”) AUCKLAND, December 18. A barrister and solicitor, F. D. M’Liver, aged thirty-nine, was found dead at his residence, 53, Shelly Beach Road, Herne Bay, yesterday afternoon. Mr M’Liver was educated at the Auckland Grammar School and attended the Auckland University College. He entered the legal profession in Auckland and was for a time in partnership with Mr C. C. Biernack. For a number of years he had practised on his own account. Mr M’Liver was well known in racing ‘circles, and is survived by a wife, who owned Potadawn when that horse was the winner of the Criterion Handicap at Ellerslie on December 28, 1927. An inquest was opened this morning. After evidence of identification had been given, the inquest was adjourned for the attendance of a doctor to confirm evidence of an important nature. A brother testified that Mr M’Liver, who was found dead on the lawn at his residence, had been suffering from influenza which had unsettled him and caused him to neglect his business of late, although witness was unaware of any worries.
