“SUSIE” KILLED.
Was Subject of Guessing Contest at Show. Susie, the fat pig, who caused so many gasps of amazement at the Winter Show, was killed at the City Abattoir this afternoon. As she lay on her bed of straw at the Show, people were asked to guess the dressed weight of the animal, and this will be made known to-morrow morning when she is weighed at the shop of the city butcher who had an eye for good pork. The butchers at the abattoir were of the opinion that Susie would weigh, dressed, something like 550 pounds. Susie was bred on the Southbridge farm of Messrs E. H. and J. D. Galpin, and had been made into an outstanding animal by good feeding.
