BIG DOWNPOUR IN NEW SOUTH WALES.
FLOODING IS REPORTED IN THE COASTAL DISTRICTS
(United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) SYDNEY, March 15. Widespread rains have soaked large areas inland and the metropolitan -district was drenched throughout the night. Heavy downpours are continuing to-day. Floods have occurred in the coastal districts and Gosford is reported to be inundated.
MANY SHEEP BOGGED IN FLOODED AREAS.
(Received March 16, 9.5 a.m.) SYDNEY, March 16. Many sheep have been bogged in the heavy black soil in the Narrabri district following the floods. They are being killed because their release is impossible. Three thousand were slaughtered on one station. Other graziers expect to be compelled to take similar action. More than twelve inches of rain fell at Gosford during the week-end. Shops and dwellings were flooded and roads washed away. Five.inches fell in fiftyfive minutes yesterdiay morning.
