GOVERNOR-GENERAL EXPRESSES SYMPATHY.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, January 5. The Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, has telegraphed the following message to his Majesty the King on the occasion of the death of her Royal Highness, the Princess Royal: “I beg to express to your Majesty with my humble duty the respectful sympathy of the Government and people of New Zealand on the death of her Royal Highness, the Princess Royal, the news of which has been received with the deepest regret by your Majesty’s subjects in this Dominion. (Signed) Bledisloe, Governor-General.”
